The state of Odisha which constitutes a part of the Eastern Ghat ranges of India has quite a diversified topography consisting of hills, valleys, dense evergreen forests, scrub jungles, estuaries and man-made forests. The forest area of the state is approximately 30 per cent of its geographical area. The Similipal National Park, Chilika, Bhitarkanika and Gahirmatha wildlife sanctuaries are already on the World map. Apart from them, Baisipalli Wildlife Sanctuary, Debrigarh, Hadgarh, Kotgarh and Sunabeda sanctuaries are also excellent conservation areas popular with tourists who wish to enjoy the wild, un-spoilt environment of nature.

Puri Golden Beach

Puri Beach is a beach in the city of Puri in the state of Odisha, India. It is on the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is known for being a tourist attraction and a Hindu sacred place. The beach is the site of the annual Puri Beach Festival, which is co-sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Tourism, the city of Odisha, the Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Kolkata. The beach hosts sand art displays, including work by international award-winning local sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik

Chandrabhaga Beach

The Chandrabhaga beach is just 2 kilometers from the Konark Sun temple. Vast stretches of sand welcomes visitors here. It was the confluence of now defunct Chandrabhaga River with the sea. The water here is holy for the pilgrims. A big fair is held here on Magha Saptami day in January – February every year. Thousands of Pilgrims take a dip in the nearby Chandrabhaga pond before sunrise and worship the rising Sun.

Balighai Beach

Near the River mouth of Nuanai, this beach is on the outskirts of a deer sanctuary. During Sunrise and Sunset one can enjoy hoards of Black-Bucks and spotted deers playing on the sea beach and in the Casuarina forest.

Gopalpur Beach

This is one of the most famous sea beach in south Odisha. This place came into prominence during the 1st World War. Gopalpur-on-sea, though a small town has around one hundred hotels to suit every pockets.

Pati Sonapur Beach

10 Kilometers from silk city Berhampur, near the Sonapur village River Bahuda divides the sea from the main land here at Pati Sanapur. This is a clean, wide and secluded beach famous for its tranquility.

Chandipur Beach

Chandipur, one of the most famous sea beach of Odisha surrounded by vast stretches of Casuarina trees producing nice musical sound with sea breeze, it is a unique beach for another natural phenomena. Here the sea receded back almost 5 kilometers from the shore during low tides.

Lesser known but another beautiful beach, blessed with absolute serenity & calmness is Jahania beach. On the banks, the casuarina plantations add spice to the feet. Just a few kilometers away from Konark one can enjoy the beautiful sunset.
